Busy times

I'm back... It has been a while but never idle times... today was a fun day at the guild.. as we get ready for a big event on March 31 to celebrate our first anniversary... we made Pot holders... so many beautiful ones . we will be selling these at our Open House.

We have invited the Public to come and join us to dosome hand quilting on two large quilts. Of course there will be good food and lots of chatting and sharing of quilting ideas. Our experienced quilters are always ready to help us learn the art of hand quilting.

Appreciate life to the fullest♥♥♥

How hard that is to do at times.....Only to be reminded when a challenging event strikes.
This week I said good-bye to one of my best friends.... At 57 years old one would tell us we have lots more to give on this earth but that was not the case for Judy... In her short life she gave it all...She was kind, never jealous, never begrudged anyone and all about LOVE! I guess the answer to why? is that Gods needs angels too.....
She was a "second" mother to our precious Amy.. whom she babysat from birth to the age of 13. and her last words were but a whisper to Amy" My sweetheart" .
I miss her terribly..

I take solace in my little quilting projects

Experimenting with my embroidery machine, I made some place mats for my sister Simone whom I am going to visit this week-end in Antigonish.

Then some pillow cases...and passing on to the next generation the skill of making projects that will surely please "mommy" on valentine's day... A pillow case.

Ariane and Laurène came and they made each a pillow case for mom and dad. What a spectacular day for a "grand-mère" to experience.

Coincidence... ???

I made this quilt a while back http://ouvragesduneacadienne.blogspot.com/2010/05/i-did-it.html#comment-form with no idea as to whom I was making it for or why I choose to design this pattern. ( My very first to design). I had not completely finished it as I wanted to do some hand embroidery on on the leaves so it stayed in the hoop for much longer than I usual have my UFOs. Three years ago I enrolled in a three year Bible Course called "Grandir Dans La Foi" Translates to Growing in Faith. This is my last year and I graduate in May. The symbol/image used for this course is a tree. Coincidence?

The nun who teaches us is a sweetheart and is not a quilter but loves quilts so now I know who the recipient of this quilt will be, Sister Yvette.

I had named the quilt " Faith in Migration"; why? Because the fabric is the Holly Taylor line Migration , so now I have tagged it and I re-named this quilt "Grandir Dans La Foi....

I don't believe this was a coincidence.

it's revealed.....

Adrien and Monique are expecting our first grand-baby boy! Of course  our grand-daughters are very special and always will be.  Miss Émilie  ( 3 years old) is feeling out of sorts because her Auntie Monique and Uncle Adrien are having their own baby (:
"Miguel"  is due to arrive in early April......

I am getting ready for a visit to my sisters' so I made her and apron..

I made a Bible cover for one of my friend in our Bible class
..

The cover has an embroidary design from http://www.emblibrary.com
The inside.is machine quilted with decorative stitching... A fun project to make.
