The list.....

I have always known that lists work well for me so last week-end I decided to make a list of the projects I wanted to get done.

  1. Finish the machine embroidery quilt
  2. Finish the blue and yellow Bargello
3. Bind the Labryinth Quilt
4. Make three labels for the finished quilts
          5.Cut another Bargello for DIL
6. Make 4 blocks for the Guild's Mystery Quilt

Machine embroidered and quilted.
I started with just the white blocks and when I put them together I found the quilt was too light so I selected my favorite patchwork block the "pinwheel" in the "Northern Solitude" by Holly Taylor
Not only was it Quilt-as-you-go.... but design-as-you-go also. The embroidery design blocks have a "machine" quilt design to match .
Blue/Yellow Bargello
  The Labryinth
The hand quilting by Linda Gaudett is absolutely gorgeous
This is one of the labels done for the quilts
The Brown Bargello strips are all cut  and ready for sewing...
This is the mystery quilt I am making in the guild. It will only be revealed in March 2014 .

On to the guild news now...
We have ended our regular meetings for July and August but we did manage to finish a beautiful quilt for the Mental Health unit at the Yarmouth Hospital.

Shown in the picture the members who did a fantastic job in hand quilting it
Sally, Clara, Irene and Lennie.

Now we focus our energy on the Quilt show...

A wonderful event starting July 29th to August 2nd ♥
at the Sacred Heart  Parish Church Saulnierville NS

Hope everyone has a very Happy Canada Day.

You know time flies when....

you see your grand-children graduate

Yes! that is Miss Émilie performing at her Pre-school graduation

And here she receives her diploma.. in grand-mère eyes she graduates with honors...

2013 graduate... Miss Émilie

Gerald and I spent a wonderful week-end at  a retreat in Halifax.. called "Ignite" ...
Here we are getting ready to leave with our good friends for a very wonderful spiritual experience.

and here we are ... having arrived

If you recall I mentioned  on few previous post how my sister,. Simone, loves aprons? Every time she comes for a visit it gives me the opportunity  to make her one and so this is the one I made her for this visit.

She loves shoes ,,, and she has a HUGE collection so I couldn't resist .. embroidered a shoe and her new apron.

At the guild last Saturday we had the privilege of having teacher Karen Henry come and do a workshop on
Freezer Paper Piecing .. this is some of her "Show and Tell" projects in that technique.

 Karen explains well ..

She keeps everyone interested and removes the fears of  making a new project

Fun! Fun! Fun!  A great time was had by all...Karen is a great teacher♥

Then it is time for lunch, and across the street we go to La Cuisine Robicheau... Oh but the home made pie is too good to pass up... some had coconut. others chocolate... Yummy! that was after a beautiful Hot Lobster dinner...
But in spite all the food  I did manage to stay awake in the afternoon session and

finish the  project we did with Karen Henry...

We have two more Guild meetings left and then we close until September.

Now we get ready for the Quilt Show...

From July 29 to August 2
At the Église Sacré-Coeur/ Sacred Heart  Church in
Saulnierville Nova Scotia !
