Jelly Roll Block

I love this block and it is simple to do but the simpler it is the more I tend to foul it up... I had to use my seam ripper twice! What is up with that????

March finished Projects

March proved to be a very productive month. I had 10 days off while hubby was away watching the Brier Curling; so my sewing machine, "Husky" and I had a real good fling! And I managed to reach my goals for the:
This was the pile of projects I submitted and set as goals to finish this month.. .....I machine quilted these pieces except for Miss Émilie's Blossom Time... I decided and was supported by Kelly that I should hand quilt it...(Maybe she will have her quilt from Grand-mère when she graduates from University)..She is 18 months old!#1Table topper....Pattern a "This and That" Days Gone By ... #2 I finished my table topper from the Spring Sewing party ....
#3... I made this wall hanging
out of Holly Jolly leftover fabrics....Pattern is Christmas Gift Tree from the Quilter's World Magazine December 2008 Vol.30 No.6 issue

Remember this pattern and all the blocks I had already made? I couldn't decide how I was going to put these blocks together? The decision was a long time coming......I think I tried three different possibilities before I decided on this I designed the appliqués strips to fit the blocks.
I will have another attempt at this pattern someday but I want to make it all in the same fabric line. The pattern is from: Lori Smith; From My Heart To Your Hands
I had some blocks left over so I made this wall hanging.....and

with the one block left I made this table centrepiece... the binding is ready to be sewn

This is my...... March BOM "Better By the Dozen" in the Kansas Winter.

Next... The Stone Cottage...

is ready for quilting...The pattern can be found on Andover Fabrics and I made this in the Henry Glass "In The Pink 11"...

And last, my Heritage Square quilt by Miss Rosie's is all finished......Agnes did her magic with her hand quilting.

There was no time to be bored or lonely!

Winter has come and gone and I look forward to the next season. I have enjoyed sewing with all of you, this winter and now with spring literally here, I look forward to again supporting one another in the projects to come!

♥♥♥☺Happy spring, and happy sewing☺♥♥♥

March Tag.....

Kelly has asked us to post a joke for our March Tag... I am not too good at remembering jokes but this one I never forgot.

Step Back, I Know First-Aid
When a car skidded on wet pavement and struck a telephone pole, several bystanders ran over to help the driver. A woman was the first to reach the victim, but a man rushed in and pushed her aside. "Step aside, lady," he barked. "I've taken a course in first-aid!"The woman watched for a few minutes, then tapped him on the shoulder. "Pardon me," she said. "But when you get to the part about calling a doctor, I'm right here."

(LOL) Can't you just picture this scenario?

Spring is in the Air

This is the song in my head ....
Last week I was off all week and did get a lot of sewing done. I finished most of my March goals : (which I will take pictures and post later) I found it a bit difficult to leave my sewing and go back to work because I had so much fun!
This project was not one of my goals but I made this table runner with charms from my leftovers. In January I had made the decision I was going to use my leftover pieces and that is what inspired me to make this table topper. "Flowers for my Table" a pattern from The Pattern Basket! Ready for the binding!

Saturday morning excitement!

Oh yes excitement..... your heart is pounding as you dial 911 And the Fire department, made up of all volunteer firemen;.....responded immediately for achimney fire ...........Nothing was lost and no one was hurt... we are not in Haiti or Chili; I can certainly handle the smoke damage in the house; nothing that soap and water can't fix. Soooo grateful for the dedication of our volunteer firemen!
