Time to refill the UFO Basket...

2012 is coming to an end and this year's projects will soon be last year's.
From my UFO basket....
a Winter Bird house wall hanging for daughter Liette
 ...done
A wall hanging for daughter Yvelle with a  country flare
 ...done
Heirloom Quilt Blocks for a quilt

... done
Placemats for DIL

 ....done
And now it is time to take out
the new journal
And on this day the page is blank......

but as all quilters know the page will soon be filled with " want to do projects".  Not to forget the important events which will take place in 2013.

I wish you all,  the best in the new year.. good health, peace, joy and love in abundance.

A super evening

The guild had their Christmas get together at a new, just opened, restaurant  and it was perfect. About 50 members came together for a beautiful dinner of Acadian Foods and a Pot-holder exchange.
Member Rose Marie makes beautiful Cross Stitch and she presented me with one ..

The Quilter's Sampler . It is beautiful!

Everyone who brought a gift of a pot holder got to pick one. We then had a  parade of Pot-holders ...

Here are just a few....
 Danielle
Ariane ( grand-daughter)

Deanna
Clara
Denise
Sidney
Geraldine
Jeannette
Eva
Elaine
Leona
Paula
Here are mine made by my friend Anna
Rose Marie
Lennie
Elise
Every one of the pot-holders were absolutely gorgeous and what fun we had showing off our gifts.

When we went to Amherst for Karen Neary's workshop in October she introduced us to the use of a corsage pin while sewing on the machine. It is the perfect tool to press out unwanted pleats, or tuck in that turned corner.
Like Oprah or Robin I wanted to share my favorite things with the members and so....

 everyone got a corsage pin!!!!
and it made a big hit!
The prizes were not elaborate cars or bundles of cash but I don't think anyone could have had more fun then we did with our pot holders and corsage pins.
Being together and enjoying each others company was priceless!

Hope your Christmas is a blessed one and the New Year full of peace, joy and serenity♥♥♥

What is happening?

Like

most households .. lots is happening. At this time of the year I like to do little projects and I am focusing on Hostess gifts for all the social activities we get invited to.

I made a few sets of these
 Burlap Coasters and these
Fabric Bowls.. perfect for Christmas candies...
For the Guild's Christmas Party (tomorrow evening) we are having a pot holder exchange.

And here are the ones I made.
I am also working on more place mats
This pattern was soooo eye catching, I just had to make them. You know when you have a pattern that talks to you? Make me!
Last Saturday we had a workshop at the Guild for the Juniors and they made a
A Christmas potholder .. a great job done by everyone.

One of the members at the guild is terminally ill and she had fabric to make a quilt but could not do it so the guild members got together Friday evening
and we sewed her quilt.

It was a  fun evening as we offered our sewing talents in prayer for our fellow member.
