I attended 

in Toronto and it was so enjoyable I am booked at the same Motel for next year. Yes quilt Canada 2017 will be in Toronto again. Keep your eyes peeled to the CQA website for information about this event as it unfolds.

There were so many lovely quilts and projects. This one was people's choice

I registered for two workshops on ruler quilting and free motion feathers with the wonderful and talented 

 teacher Amy Van Gurp  Professional Computerized Longarm Quilting

who lives in PEI.  

Came home very inspired.

Now I am off to preparing our quilt show 

which will be held all next week. 

I have not been able to fill all my wish list for this year's quilt show. Sewing was put on the back burner for a while and I am only now getting back to sewing new projects.

This is my Summer Blooms which had been in the \

"to be quilted pile" 

 This winter my friend Clara came and set me up with the quilting frames and 

 I hand quilted it. It was very relaxing and I do hope to hand quilt another one this winter.

Oh! MY! look who turned sixteen. 

   Yes my grand-daughter Laurène and of course comes the driver's license so I gave her my car. 

I hope to see many of you at the Quilt show and I will post some pictures after the show closes.

Activities at the guild

The guild's meetings have come to a close for the summer but the activities were plentiful. Member Paula is responsible to challenge the members to make a project with a  specific pattern. This year the challenge was "two colors". 

These projects were unveiled along with a full day of fun activities for the members.

And the fun continued as we celebrated our.. 

 "happy" 5th year. Hard to believe  it has been five years. Membership remains at 100 . The projects that have been made are too numerous to enumerate. But most importantly the bonds of friendship that have been established in the last five years are remarkable. 

And the fun continues as the members play together ...

A game of strip poker...  

2½ inch strip of fabric that is ..

And a special surprise for member Clara. 

Member Suzanne presented her with a quilt she found in her mother's attic (Jacqueline Comeau) which was made by Clara's mom (Stella à Patrick) . 

The quilt depicts the church at Grand-Pré our,  Acadian, historical park here in Nova Scotia. The quilt is all hand-made. Hand embroidered, hand pieced and hand quilted.

What is a celebration without good food to share.
