What have I been up to?

For the first time ever,I have been doing some hand quilting (or trying to) ... I tried two different size hoops and the one I liked the most was the one on a stand but now I am using my small frames which I like very much.

Oh! but the SORE fingers!!!! :)I really want to master this as I find it so relaxing.

My stitches are not even and some of my stitch lines are crooked but I will enjoy seeing this piece as I progess in this art... that is....I hope I progress ...):

  1. It looks wonderful! I tried hand quilting and flopped miserably at it. Ugh. You have the patience of a saint. I'm way over eager to see the project done.

  3. Hand quilting just takes practice. I think you are doing very well for just starting. I no longer use a Q-Snap frame but that is what I started with.

  4. The imperfections make it a treasure. When I hand quilt I feel like I am the master of the project. Don't beat yourself up over it. You work is lovely and only you know where the little troubled spots are. Keep up the good work. Chris

  9. It's beautiful Joan - we're always our own worst critics (sigh)! Honestly - it looks as pretty as Agnes' quilts! Way to jump out and learn something new! I'm so proud of ya!

  10. Joan it's so beautiful! Yes you will progress - you just can't help it. I don't use a frame or hoop, but my fingers get sore too - I use an adhesive leather thimble and it works great. It's just a dot of leather.
