I am a great one for setting goals and making lists and I guess what I need to do is not to be obsessive about the list or the priorities I make. I get very disappointed if the goals are not met according to plan so in fact it does not help me in the self-care department. So here is the list I may be able to accomplish but will be OK if I do not.
1. Add the finishing touches on the table runners I made before vacation.
in the Rouenneries* (these two have to be listed as priorities as they are for the church bazaar on August the 8th )
2. Make my three BOM.. Designer Mystery block, Kansas Troubles BOM and the Jelly roll blocks
#3. is a priority .... I will continue to organize (which I committed to) the Quilt Show, a church fundraiser, taking place August 2nd to 6th and
4. I will continue to spend quality time with my very best friend..
This is not a goal or a priority it is a continuation of a 40 year wonderful commitment... and the ultimate self-care♥♥♥
August is a month full of events in the Tufts family.. all the wedding anniversaries are in August... Ours, and our three children's.....plus there are 4 birthdays and this year DH celebrates a very special one!!!!
So I know I will be busy with these events in August and enjoy the moments as I share them with loved ones!
Hi Joan--I know what you mean by saying when you set goals they never seem to happen---that always happens to me---I set goals and I can be sure that just the opposite will take place---Ouch!!!
ReplyDeletebest of luck with yours this time and watch all that cake eating in August or I know what one of your goals for Sept will be????????
Hugs, Di
Great goals Joan. Can't wait to see your finished projects.
ReplyDeleteI know just what you mean about getting all your goals accomplished. I get way too mad at myself if I don't. I've really been procrastinating in getting my list done too, with it being summer things never seem to slow down enough to blog. That happens with little kids though;-)
ReplyDeleteAugust is a month full of big occasions in my family too. My birthday, dh's and my 11th anniversary, several other family members birthdays and anniversaries too. August sure is a popular month for weddings. Ours is the 14th. What day is yours?
You are going to have a wonderful month!
ReplyDeleteHi Joan, I too like that your self-care includes not having to meet your goals. And yes, making quality time with your hubby is so important;having reached 40 years - you've been doing that one right! Good luck with your goals.
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! Can't wait to see your progress but 'no pressure'. Enjoy your celebrations in August.
ReplyDeleteLove it that you're slowing down a bit on the sewing goals so you can enjoy more time with the family! I know you'll have a wonderful August - and will be looking forward to hearing all about it (oh and seeing those pretty projects)!
ReplyDeleteAnd what an attractive couple you make.
ReplyDeleteA commitment being fullfilled.
