A perfect day for travelling on water.. so we headed out for a day trip to the Islands ... Freeport and Brier Islands
Hubby and Father Pierre
The blue of the water could not get any bluer
My friend Jacqueline admires this beauty. and the lunch.
Oh ma! Yummy!
The food is soooo good at Levina's. Fresh from its back door... Digby scallops, haddock, fresh baked biscuits and the pies and tarts...Oh la la !
Of course the beautiful company... and a welcomed visitor,
Sister Marie-Paul visiting from Bathurst NB
I love this quote placed right at the end of the last Island... inspiring for all the ship captains who read this.
And a finish.....
I contemplated how I was going to quilt this and did some free motion on it only to take it all out because it was just not what this quilt needed, so in the end...
I quilted it in the ditch... in all the little strips and
it gave it the perfect effect keeping the beautiful design as a focal point.
I love Cindi's little quilts from A Very Special Collection
July is here and it is time for the Bertie's Year ...July block..
I am enjoying the wool appliqué a lot...
Speaking of which, a friend of mine, Claudette, made me this gift of a beautiful Primitive Gathering pattern
"Summer Blooms"
which I adore
and look forward to making this quilt.. this winter.
And now for the next few weeks quilting will be minimum as I will be focusing on the
Expo-Quilt show preparations being held July 27th to 31. The quilts will be registered on Sunday July 26th from 1:00 to 5:00 so if anyone wishes to put their beautiful art work in the Expo.. you are more than welcome to bring your quilts at the
Sacré-Coeur Saulnierville NS Church .
FYI... Acadian Security cameras will be installed in the church
on July 25th
for the whole week the quilts are on display.

What a beautiful day to be outdoors! Your star quilt is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sunny> It was a wonderful day on the Islands. Hugs
DeleteEnjoyed reading about your trip to the islands; Brier Island is on my to-do list.I agree with your quilting decision - when the patchwork is that beautiful, it needs to take top spot and have the quilting placed just quietly in the background.
ReplyDeleteWish we could come to your show this year - I know it will be wonderful!
Oh I do hope you get to the Islands. And I will miss your visit at the show but will see you on the fall at your event!
