Kim Diehl club a great success

Well the sewing season for the Guild is coming to a close for the summer and also the end of the

Kim Diehl club.
Quite a few members have participated in the club and beautiful projects were made and are still being worked on . I am missing a few pictures but I will post them
 as I get them

The Taffy Pull
which is the Signature quilt for the Guilde Acadienne de Clare
was a great hit and many members were inspired to make it
Here is one of those beautiful Taffy Pull.. by member Marilyn

The other great hit was the Walk in The Park project
This one I made ..

And this beauty
made by member Simone

Member Christina decided
to keep it simple and made this version of the Walk in the Park

Member Marie  made these beauties
Bureau scarfs
A Kim Diehl Pattern "Welcome Wagon"

And My pride and joy, the Kim Dielh
"Fiddlesticks and Fancies"
with the fabric designed by Kim Diehl for Henry Glass
Machine assembled and quilted by " Moi".
Of course it found a home right away after the first viewing by my daughter Liette who just built a new cottage.
It looks gorgeous on the upstairs railing.

and I just received this photo of member Louisette "s

Kim Diehl project..
Beautifully done in its simplicity.

Yes the guild is coming to a close with our last meeting tomorrow evening at which time we will unveil a quilt we made to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Clare. (our municipality) I will post a picture after tomorrow because I do  not want to spoil the surprise.
How the quilt came into being...
the members were given four sheets 8"x 8" of paper--
(one of each color) red, white, blue and yellow
( these are the Acadian Colors)
and with those papers we were to design an 8"x 8" block then transfer that on fabric to create a  block for the quilt.
which became a lovely quilt with its unique designed blocks...

We had a very successful year at the Guild again this year with lots of fun and laughter.. but one unique event happened that is well worth mentioning. Our Youngest member
Marie-Claude 16 yrs old entered her quilt
in the youth challenge of the Canadian Quilters Associations

and won first prize.
She designed her quilt to depict her love of travelling and named her quilt "let's Go"

I have been busy in the sewing studio all winter and have enjoyed  making a few bags
This one ..by Aunties Two patterns .. the Rockport Tote..
and this one by "Pink Sand and Beach designs" the Kona Carryall

Now it it is time to plan the quilt show happening
the last week in July in our beautiful Sacré-Coeur church in Saulnierville N.S.

  3. Expensive. Most silicone dolls now cost around $2500-4000.
