All done! Thank you Charming Girls for your support and sharing your disgruntlement that came with the tiny HST's. It was so nice to know I was not alone!(LOL) But having said that and loving my finished project, I have to say......
the pattern was well explained and understandable for any level of quilters.. In my book it is a seller!

Can you see why my heart breaks when I open a "Jelly Roll?

But then when it becomes a project the agony is soon forgotten♥♥♥

The pattern is"The Birchwood Lane House" from the book ... "Strip-Favorites by Suzanne McNeill ....and I choose last year's line of fabric, Birchwood lane by "Holly Taylor". I love the colors in this fabric. It doesn't do it justice in the picture as it shows as red but it is a beautiful burgundy..

This is work in progress. This piece is the quilt centre which can be used as a lap quilt but I am going all the way with it ... The next step is log cabin blocks all around.

I have to say it is a fun project to make and not very challenging, which was a perfect piece to work on this week-end after a very busy week.

Liz's October finishes

I received an e-mail from, Liz, a fellow Charming girl who does not have a blog and I am sharing with you her October finished projects


Hi Joan,
These are my finishes for October. The 4 convergence quilts are actually quilted and finished, and the green flannel is at the quilters now. The convergence quilts were fun to do and will make great Christmas presents. I just have to decide which ones I'm going to keep for myself.

First finished project.

"TGIF" music to the ears .

November the 6th is a significant date for me:

I remember very well, 39 years ago, on a Friday, our first baby was born....

Yvelle.... She has grown into a fine young woman, a devoted teacher and is now a wonderful mother herself to my two grand-daughters Ariane 7 and Laurène 9.

I finished my November BOM (and first of twelve) in which I had to open my Fat Quarter bundle.....Oh ma ma!

The pattern comes from;
The fabric line I am using is Kansas Winter and as mentioned it is the first of 12 which I will submit monthly to the:

November already! Have any of you ever been reluctant to open a new Fat Quarter bundle,(that is folded soooo well),

or a charm pack..... or worst, a jelly roll? Oooooh! that is my pet peeve.... it runs havoc on my serenity.....

I guess maybe my first project was put on hold for almost a year because I did not want to ruin the looks of my jelly rolls... ??? Is something wrong with me or what?? Anyway , as I said, I have had this project on hold for about one year and I know it is time....time to unroll those jelly rolls... not one; but two... on my! Kleenex please!

I am doing this pattern called "Birchwood Lane House" in the "Birchwood Lane" fabric by Holly Taylor.

My next project.... oh dear !!!!I have to untie my fat quarter bundle...... boohoo

I will be starting a block of the month from the book "Better by the Dozen" by Susan Teegarden Dissmore .
And my first block is called "Capital T"
For this project I will be using Kansas Winter fabric.

And my third....comes with the opening of the charm pack...yak...

I am using "Cranberry Wishes" on a simple pattern called "Star Trip". I choose this project so I can hand quilt it myself, later on this winter. I have wanted to attempt that for a while now and I think this is the perfect pattern for my first. (It actually makes me look forward to the winter evenings so I can quilt by the fire.) After the holidays are over with and I can re-arrange my family room to fit my quilting frames.

So none of these projects will be completed by the end of Novemebr but they are all projects from my wish list.

I choose all those fabrics because I am getting into the Christmas Season mode and I love to sew with fabrics that compliments the season...

I really look forward to connecting with all you Charming Girls as co-host of the CGQC and being inspired by all the great work that you do. Working with Kelly will be a charm as I can just feel the warmth of her smile and a true frienship which has developed as we share ideas and thoughts for a fun adventure for the CGQC; so stay connected!
