I can't believe how long it took me to choose fabric for my Quilt Along. In the end I decided to use the last of my "Cause for the Cure Tradition".

And a light background.
This seemed to compliment every color and pattern in the line.

4th month Anniversary for the CGQC

Welcome everyone to my blog. I have to tell you this is exciting!
It is an honor to host the Charming Girls Club in its 4th month and a pleasure to connect with all the Charming girls.

Congratulations on all those beautiful September projects you guys finished. Wow! what talents! Looking forward to more of the same and supporting you with your October projects!
We will proceed in the usual manner. Members of the CGQC; you will post your projects by October 7th which you plan to have done by October 31st on your blog and send me a notice you have done so via this blog. It will direct everyone to your blogs. For those who do not blog send me an e-mail (address to be found in my profile) and I will post your entries here. When your projects are done you can post them in the same manner.The fun part is to see all those beautiful projects done so nicely. There are a lot of talented people in this club and the fun part is to follow these fabulous quilters at work.

Now for my October projects ...

The first project I will make is this little wall hanging

which I think is just priceless. The Quilter's Angel. I think all the Charming Girls qualify for that title.My next project will be a UFO .. Molly's Meadow by Kim Dielh. I have been working on it for a bit and it is time to finish it.

You have read about my up coming workshop in Amherst on October 16th with

designer Karen Neary http://www.sewkaren-lycreated.blogspot.com/. The workshop "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend", will be one of my projects I am submitting for October. I am certain I will want to make more than one of these...... I am also participating in the Charming Girls Club Mini Quilt Swap so that project needs to be completed and forwarded to my secret partner by October 31st.

September Projects

The last of my September projects is finished.


Table topper with the left-overs from my quilt in the "Cause for the Cure Tradition", from my own design...All done .... there they all are... all five of the projects submitted.... The basket is empty.... it's time to fill it up again....

Wow! the month of September just flew by....looking forward to October♥♥♥

The Big 60

The day started as usual with a wonderful service at mass, but what was intriguing were all these people coming to wish me happy birthday. How did they know?

Later in the aftrenoon ... the surprise.. Gerald and the kids had organized an open house and invited friends for.....

(I had been referring to the big number so much Gerald couldn't resist displaying it on my cake!)

The B I G number is soon approaching

"60", "Sixty", "Soixante" no matter how I write it's a big number! I must admit this week has been unbelievable as far as making the the switch to another digit number easier. On Sunday we went to my friends Eva and Louis' for dinner and as soon as we had cleared the table of the Entrée leftovers, she brought in this cake with the "60" candle. They are not going to be around this week-end (they are going Moose hunting in Cape Breton N.S.) so they wanted to celebrate the B I G event!
The cake...a carrot cake with Cream Cheese Icing... yum!

Then a gift for a quilter! Christmas fat quarters .. perfect for a table topper I want to make....
I love mail ! Monday I received this birthday card and a lovely prayer card from my cousine, Terrie.. Sister Terrie that is... She is a nun in New York...

Tuesday my subscription came in... great pattern ideas!

and my book order from Chapters....
Then Wednesday ... what a surprise... from my friend Kelly... oh! I love the pattern...

Kelly and I had coffee(Via e-mail) every morning this week.. connecting and sharing with friends makes everything OK ... even unwanted birthdays!Thursday an envelope from my sister, Simone....
These gorgeous coasters she made with Kansas Troubles...and better still she is going to show me how they are made when we get together for our "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" Workshop in October!
Now this package was exciting.... so I decide to wait and open it when we can connect on the phone. (Simone lives at the other end of the Province in Antigonish)
Oh! I love to chat with "Sis"

Wow! 14kt two tone earings! Sixty isn't so bad after all!

Counting my blessings is what I am going to focus on because there have been and still are many to count; now that is a B I G number! ♥♥♥

The quilting is hand quilted again by Agnes. I am so grateful to her for doing all my hand quilting. This is her passion and along with the CGQC she inspires me to sew !sew! sew! because as soon as one project is done she is ready for the next.
