First Canada Day!




This is Émilie's first Canada Day


and she rejoices in being Canadian!

The snacks are all ready for company. These are yummmy!

Candy Bar Squares

Only 15 minutes preparation tme.

1 cup margaring or butter

1 cup brown sugar

3 cups Quick-cooking oats (not instant)

½ cup corn syrup

1 cup all pupose flour

Heat margaring/butter in a saucepan. Mix in brown sugar,rolled oats, corn syrup and flour. Spread in a greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake in 350º oven for 15 to 18 minutes. Cool to lukewarm.

Icing: 1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup smooth peanut butter

2-3 tbsp peanuts

Combine chocolate chips and peanut butter in a saucepan. Heat on low, stirring often until chips are all melted. Spread over squares in pan. Sprinkle with peanuts if desired. Cool. Cut into squares.

Freeze well!
